Shit just got real, the premier league has now been suspended.

With the chat tab on our app showing 37% more activity vs last month, you guys have been chatting away and potentially planning to meet to go for a drink or whatever dads do these days.

Our statistic along with COVID-19’s are showing no signs of slowing down so we thought we should just ping you some information so you can relay it to your families and keep everyone safe during this time.

COVID-19 is a new illness that can affect your lungs and airways. It’s caused by a virus called coronavirus. The symptoms of coronavirus are: a cough, a high temperature, and a shortness of breath. But these symptoms do not necessarily mean you have the illness. Don’t freak out about every single cough on the tube! The symptoms are similar to other illnesses that are much more common, such as the cold and flu. It’s basically a new type of flu that we have never seen before, so we haven’t got a treatment for it. That’s why everyone’s losing their shit.

COVID-19 is a virus, not a bacteria.
What’s the difference you ask? Let us explain…
Bacteria are single-celled microorganisms that thrive in many different types of environments. Most bacteria cause no harm to people, but there are exceptions. We’ve all had bacteria inbalances – vaginal infections, ear infections, UTIs etc and you can usually treat bacteria issues with antibiotics and inhibit its growth with anti-bacterial products.

Viruses are even smaller than bacteria and require living hosts — such as people, plants or animals — to multiply. Otherwise, they can’t survive. When a virus enters your body, it invades some of your cells and takes over the cell machinery, redirecting it to produce the virus. You cannot treat a virus with antibiotics and hand sanitiser won’t cut it!

Ok so…
What should I do Dadapp?

Wash your hands ya filthy animal!
No shit Sherlock! Coughing into your hand is a big no no and this is what WHO think is transmitting the Virus. Wash your hands with soap and water often, and for at least 20 seconds (sick of being a human stopwatch? Sing the chorus to Kings of Leon’s Your sex is on fire). Hand sanitiser does not work on Viruses, it’s anti-bacterial and remember, Bacteria is different to a Virus.

You’re on the tube(or anywhere really), and really need to cough or sneeze… we get it! But please – cover your mouth and nose with a tissue or your sleeve (not your hands!).

Keep calm and clean on
Currently, the CDC knows the coronavirus is spread from person-to-person (most frequently by close contacts that are within about 2 metres of each other).

High anxiety
First Trump, then Brexit [and Kobe, RIP] and now Coronavirus! Give us a break guys! We know that rolling news is terrifying and can cause panic. We recommend deep breathing to keep your adrenaline down and discussing the issue rationally with your close friends.

At Dadapp, we’ve got you. Meet up if you’re going to meet up because at the end of the day life is meant to be lived. Just remember to practice the above tips/preventative methods.

You’ve also got the home feed so feel free to post on there if you want guidance/support from the rest community without moving a muscle.

Love, peace and prosperity.
Stay strong, stay focused.
